XBRELE’s amorphous alloy transformer series includes the SBH15-M oil-immersed range (5–160 kVA) and SCBH15 dry-type units (30–2500 kVA). With significantly lower no-load loss compared to silicon steel transformers, these high-efficiency models are designed for 6–11 kV distribution networks requiring energy savings and reduced OPEX.
The amorphous alloy transformer uses an amorphous metal core instead of traditional silicon steel laminations, dramatically reducing core loss. By combining optimized magnetic properties with high-quality windings, XBRELE SBH15-M oil-immersed and SCBH15 dry-type designs help utilities and industrial users cut no-load loss and improve overall grid efficiency.
Compared with a conventional silicon steel distribution transformer, an amorphous core transformer can reduce no-load loss by 60–70% in many cases, which directly translates into lower lifetime energy consumption. This makes the amorphous alloy transformer a preferred low loss transformer option for projects that focus on energy saving, carbon reduction and long-term OPEX control.
XBRELE engineers design each amorphous alloy distribution transformer according to international power transformer standards such as IEC 60076-1 power transformers , ensuring insulation coordination, temperature rise and short-circuit strength are fully verified. When customers compare silicon steel vs amorphous solutions for 6–11 kV networks, these high efficiency distribution transformers provide a clear technical and economic advantage.

XBRELE SBH15-M oil-immersed and SCBH15 dry-type amorphous alloy transformer series provide low loss transformer solutions for utilities and industrial users who focus on energy efficient transformer performance and lifetime operating cost, offering a high efficiency distribution transformer alternative in the discussion of silicon steel vs amorphous cores.

SBH15-M adopts an amorphous alloy iron core and hermetically sealed tank structure. Compared with traditional silicon steel transformers, it significantly reduces no-load loss, helping utilities and project owners cut OPEX while improving grid efficiency.
The product is suitable for rural and urban distribution networks, energy conservation retrofits, and government green energy projects that require a low loss transformer with reliable outdoor performance.

XBRELE amorphous alloy transformer solutions combine SBH15-M oil-immersed and SCBH15 dry-type designs, delivering a low loss transformer platform for modern 6–11 kV distribution networks. By replacing conventional silicon steel cores with an amorphous core transformer design, utilities and industrial users gain a high efficiency distribution transformer that cuts no-load loss and reduces lifetime OPEX. For a broader view of matching oil-immersed and dry-type products, please visit the Power Distribution Transformers pillar page .
The core of each amorphous alloy transformer is made from thin amorphous metal strips with very low hysteresis and eddy current loss, improving efficiency compared with traditional silicon steel designs.
As an energy efficient transformer, the XBRELE amorphous alloy distribution range is designed for projects where energy saving and carbon reduction are core targets, from new substations to retrofit programs.
Both SBH15-M oil-immersed and SCBH15 dry-type amorphous alloy transformer designs use reinforced winding structures and proven insulation systems to ensure long-term reliability in distribution networks.
XBRELE combines controlled core processing, precise coil winding and strict type/routine tests to ensure that SBH15-M oil-immersed and SCBH15 dry-type units operate reliably as low loss, energy-efficient distribution transformers in 6–11 kV networks.
The production line for amorphous-core distribution transformers focuses on stable magnetic performance, low no-load loss and long-term mechanical strength, from strip cutting and annealing to final tank assembly.
Amorphous metal strips are cut and stacked under controlled tension, with annealing and banding to minimise stress and vibration in service.
Low-voltage foil coils and high-voltage multi-layer windings are wound with precise tension control to provide strong short-circuit withstand capability.
For SBH15-M, assembled cores and coils are vacuum-dried and filled with transformer oil to improve insulation resistance and moisture protection.
SCBH15 dry-type designs use vacuum resin casting or encapsulation of HV windings to achieve low partial discharge and stable dielectric strength.
Tank welding, terminal installation, tap changer operation and accessories are verified before final inspection and shipment.
Tests are performed according to IEC 60076 series and corresponding national standards, covering both oil-immersed SBH15-M and SCBH15 dry-type designs for distribution service.
From the dusty depths of mines to humid industrial plants, XBRELE’s specialized contactors are built to endure conditions where standard equipment fails.
The LZNJ series uses epoxy resin to completely encapsulate the vacuum interrupter, isolating it from the external environment.
Specifically rated for 1140V networks, bridging the gap between standard LV (690V) and MV (3.3kV) for underground equipment.
