Essential Safety Logic & Auxiliary Systems

XBRELE provides a comprehensive suite of switchgear components designed to enhance the operational safety and reliability of KYN28 and XGN cabinets. Our DSN Electromagnetic Locks and Program Key Systems enforce the industry-standard “Five Prevention” logic, mechanically or electrically blocking incorrect switching sequences to protect personnel from arc flash hazards.

For real-time circuit status, the DXN High Voltage Indicating System offers clear visual confirmation of live busbars. These devices feature integrated phasing ports (checking terminals), allowing operators to verify phase synchronization safely from the panel front without opening the compartment.

Engineered for harsh environments, our JRD Aluminum Heaters efficiently prevent condensation buildup, while our WB/JV Insulation components provide critical dielectric support. All components are compliant with IEC 62271 Standards, ensuring long-term stability for 12kV to 40.5kV assemblies.

Engineered for Safety & Durability

Core Technologies of Switchgear Components

Reliability in MV power distribution depends on the integrity of every auxiliary component. From electromagnetic interlocking logic to robust epoxy insulation structures, XBRELE components are designed to enforce safety protocols and withstand harsh operating environments.

Operator Safety

“Five Prevention” Interlocking Logic

Our DSN Electromagnetic Locks and mechanical program keys are the backbone of switchgear safety, physically preventing dangerous mis-operations.

  • Foolproof Blocking: Prevents opening compartments or operating switches when the circuit is live (AC/DC 220V logic).
  • Sequence Control: Enforces the correct order: Disconnect -> Earth -> Access.
  • Heavy Duty Solenoid: >30N blocking force ensures the mechanism remains locked under stress.
Live Monitoring

Visual Voltage Confirmation

The DXN Voltage Indicator system provides a critical second layer of safety verification for maintenance personnel working on KYN28 panels.

  • Clear Indication: High-brightness LEDs flash (>1Hz) to warn of HV presence on the busbar.
  • Self-Check Function: Built-in test button allows operators to verify the display is functioning correctly.
  • Phasing Capability: Integrated front-panel ports enable safe phase comparison without opening the door.
Environmental Protection

Climate & Insulation Integrity

Protecting internal components from moisture and electrical flashover is vital. Our JRD Heaters and Epoxy Insulators provide this shield.

  • Anti-Condensation: 50W-150W aluminum heaters rapidly dissipate moisture to prevent tracking.
  • APG Epoxy Technology: Structural bending plates (WB) offer high mechanical strength and dielectric isolation.
  • Flame Retardancy: JV insulation covers use UL94 V-0 rated plastic to prevent fire propagation at joints.
Quality Control

Safety Assurance & Testing

Reliability is non-negotiable for switchgear safety devices. XBRELE employs rigorous testing protocols for DSN Locks and DXN Indicators to ensure faultless operation under critical conditions.

FAQs: Safety Components & Auxiliaries

Common questions regarding installation, voltage ratings, and compatibility of switchgear interlocks, heaters, and voltage indicators.

What voltage should I choose for DSN locks?
The control voltage of the DSN Electromagnetic Lock must match your substation’s DC system or auxiliary AC supply. We offer both AC 220V, DC 220V, and DC 110V versions. Please verify your control circuit voltage before ordering to prevent solenoid burnout.
Does the DXN indicator need a separate power supply?
No. The DXN Voltage Indicator is powered directly by the capacitive signal from the high-voltage bushing sensors. It does not require an external auxiliary power source for its primary indication function. However, an external supply is needed if you use the optional relay output contacts for remote SCADA monitoring.
How does the “Five Prevention” lock work?
The Five Prevention logic ensures safety by mechanically or electrically blocking operations. For example, a DSN lock on the earthing switch handle will only energize (unlock) when the VCB is open and the line side is de-energized, physically preventing an earthing fault.
Are JRD heaters continuous or thermostat controlled?
JRD Cabinet Heaters are resistive loads and can run continuously. However, for energy efficiency and lifespan, we strongly recommend pairing them with a hygrostat (humidity controller) or thermostat. This ensures the heater only activates when condensation risk is high.
Can WB bending plates be customized?
Yes. While we have standard molds for WB1-40.5kV (Depth 68mm/85mm), XBRELE can customize the length and mounting hole positions of epoxy bending plates to fit non-standard busbar arrangements or retrofit older cabinets.
What is the difference between JV1 and JV2 covers?
JV Insulation Covers are designed for busbar joints. JV1 typically refers to the T-shape or L-shape cover used at the upper branching joint, while JV2 is often the I-shape or lower cover for straight connections. Always refer to the dimensional drawing to match your busbar size.
How to test if a DXN indicator is working?
Most DXN units feature a “Self-Check” button on the front panel. Pressing this button uses an internal battery or capacitor to light up the LEDs, confirming that the display circuit is functional even when the HV line is dead.
Do you provide the mounting sensors for DXN?
Yes. The DXN indicator requires signal input from capacitive sensors (CG5 series) installed on the busbar or bushings. We can supply the complete system: Sensors + Coaxial Cable + Display Unit. Please specify your system voltage (12kV/24kV) for correct sensor sizing.
