Component Overview

High-Performance Vacuum Circuit Breaker Parts & Spares

XBRELE specializes in manufacturing critical conductive and insulating components for medium voltage vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs). Our catalog covers the entire current range from 630A to 5000A, offering genuine replacement parts for VS1, VD4, ZN85, and retrofit solutions for older JYN/KYN cabinets.

We prioritize conductivity and mechanical stability. Our Tulip Contacts and Static Contacts are machined from 99.9% pure T2 Copper with thick silver plating (8-12μm) to ensure low contact resistance and minimal temperature rise. For insulation, our Contact Arms and Operating Rods utilize the APG epoxy process or vulcanized silicone, providing void-free dielectric strength essential for arc extinction chambers.

Strictly tested against IEC 62271-1 (Common specs for switchgear) , our spares ensure the operational safety of your circuit breakers. From simple duckbill contacts to complex embedded poles, we deliver factory-direct precision.

Technical Superiority of XBRELE Spares

Reliable vacuum circuit breakers start with high-purity materials. We combine T2 Copper for maximum conductivity with APG Epoxy Resin for superior dielectric strength, ensuring your VCB operates safely under high-current loads (up to 4000A).

Conductivity

T2 Copper & Silver Plating

The performance of a tulip contact relies on low contact resistance. We use certified T2 Copper (≥99.9% purity) as the base material.

  • Thick Plating: 8-12μm silver plating prevents oxidation and reduces temperature rise at the joint.
  • Constant Pressure: Non-magnetic stainless steel springs maintain uniform contact pressure over thousands of cycles.
  • Range: Available from 630A to 5000A for all major VCB brands.
Insulation

APG Epoxy Technology

Our contact arms and insulating cylinders are manufactured using Automatic Pressure Gelation (APG) to eliminate air voids.

  • Dielectric Strength: Ensures safe isolation between live parts and the grounded frame (12kV / 40.5kV).
  • Partial Discharge: Tested to be less than 5pC, preventing premature insulation failure.
  • Thermal Class: High-grade epoxy resin maintains stability even under heavy fault current heat.
Mechanical Safety

High-Tensile Operating Rods

The insulating rod (pull rod) transmits the mechanical force to open the vacuum interrupter. Failure is not an option.

  • Tensile Strength: Reinforced composite materials withstand the high-speed opening forces of the VCB mechanism.
  • X-Ray Detection: 100% inspection for internal cracks or flaws before shipment.
  • Compatibility: Precision-threaded ends (M12/M16) ensure a perfect fit for VS1 and ZN85 breakers.

Questions About VCB Spare Parts

Common queries regarding compatibility, materials, and replacement of vacuum circuit breaker parts like tulip contacts and insulating arms.

How to select the right Tulip Contact for my VCB?
Selection depends on the rated current and the diameter of the mating static contact. For a standard VS1-12kV VCB: 630A uses Φ35mm contacts, 1250A uses Φ49mm, and 3150A uses Φ109mm. Always verify the number of sheets (e.g., 30 vs 64 sheets) and the outer diameter in our technical drawings before ordering.
What is the silver plating thickness on contacts?
All our tulip contacts and static contacts feature a standard silver plating thickness of 8-12μm. This ensures low contact resistance and prevents oxidation, which is critical for minimizing temperature rise in high-current switchgear contacts. Thicker plating is available upon request.
Are these parts compatible with ABB VD4 breakers?
Yes. XBRELE manufactures aftermarket VCB replacement parts that are dimensionally compatible with major brands like ABB (VD4), Siemens (3AH), and Schneider (Evolis). Specifically, our GC5 series tulip contacts are a direct fit for most VD4 and VS1 type vacuum circuit breakers.
What material is used for the Contact Arms?
For currents up to 1250A, we offer cost-effective Copper-Aluminum (Cu-Al) composite arms. For high currents (1600A-4000A), we strictly use pure T2 Copper arms to ensure maximum conductivity. All arms are insulated with APG epoxy resin or vulcanized rubber for dielectric safety.
Can you supply custom Insulating Rods?
Yes. While we stock standard lengths (e.g., 180mm, 235mm) for VS1 spare parts, we can manufacture custom insulating operating rods (pull rods) with specific lengths and thread sizes (M12/M16) based on your sample or drawing.
What is the difference between Epoxy and Vulcanized arms?
Epoxy resin arms are rigid and offer excellent mechanical support, ideal for standard 12kV cabinets. Vulcanized arms (used in ZN85 40.5kV) have a silicone rubber coating that provides better flexibility and surface creepage resistance, suitable for heavy-duty or humid environments.
How often should VCB contacts be replaced?
Vacuum circuit breaker contacts should be inspected annually. Replacement is recommended if the silver plating is worn off, if there are signs of pitting/burning, or if the contact resistance exceeds the manufacturer’s limit (typically >50μΩ). Regular maintenance ensures the safety of your switchgear system.
Do you sell Earthing Switch contacts?
Yes. We supply flat contacts (duckbill type) specifically for JN15 earthing switches. These are available in 10kV and 35kV ratings. You can find their specifications in the “Contact Systems” tab of our Product Grid above.
